Find someone to climb with
One
of the occasional problems with climbing, and especially roped climbing,
is that there are times when it is difficult to find a regular climbing
partner. Honest! It is not that we are all Nobby No Mates, more often
we have not been able to persuade our friends to get into climbing, or
they are on holiday, or have sprained something, or the cat has flu.
Fear not, we have some solutions for you.
The first is at Guildford where we have a 'Find a Climbing Partner' system. Ask at reception for a form, fill it out, and we will display it in a special board in the changing area to attract a like minded person looking for something similar. With 1,000s of members you should be able hook up with someone in no time.
Another solution is to attend one of our Social Sessions at either Guildford or Sutton. These sessions are ideal for meeting new climbing friends.
You
could also join our Facebook fan page and put up a post or comment on
the page asking if someone fancies a climb. Just click the Facebook logo
or go here.
Mind you, Craggy Island is known nationally as 'the friendly wall. We find there is always a great vibe at our climbing walls and everybody is usually happy for someone to tag along on a session. Our advice is to watch them climb a few routes before aproaching someone to make sure you are happy with their standard of climbing, and then there is nothing better than to say ''is it OK to join you to climb - I seem to have lost my usual belayer!"
Finally, it is always worth asking one of our Craggy Crew if they know someone who might be looking for a climbing partner. Our staff know our customers better than anyone else after all, and like nothing better than to help.
