Boot Camp at Craggy2

Sounds a bit scary I know, but don’t worry no ones going to shout at you, however it is a chance to get some coaching from top La Sportiva sponsored climbers, Neil Gresham, Mark Croxall, Danie Rushmer, Gavin Symonds and Kitty Wallace for FREE!

The Boot Camp is a one off event sponsored by La Sportiva and Lyon Equipment and will take place on the 25th April 09 between 12am and 6pm at Craggy2 near Sutton. The day will jointly showcase La Sportiva rock shoes and the fabulous bouldering and facilities at Craggy2. As far as we know a totally new concept!

Circuit Comp

There will be 3 circuits set at easy, medium and hard, you choose the category you want to try and if you complete the circuits your card will go into the prize draw for La Sportiva climbing boots relevant to the level of the circuits completed. In addition there will be bonus prizes donated by Rock On and Climb Magazine.

Coaching

The above mentioned climbers will be on the floor offering encouragement and advice on techniques as well as providing workshops and one to one tuition. Neil is probably the best known climbing performance coach in the UK, Mark is a member of the British Bouldering Team and former World Cup winner, Danie is Craggy Island centre manager and nationally renowned climber, Gavin is one of the pioneers of ‘deep water soloing’ (cliff climbing over the sea without ropes!) and Kitty is one of our brightest young stars having redpointed 8a at just 14 years and is a member of the Junior British Climbing Team. The itinerary for this is not as yet defined, but we imagine to be fairly informal, I’ll post again nearer the date with more information.

Normal entry prices will apply, but there will be no charge for any of the activities or coaching.

In addition we are planning a BBQ and there will be a bar.
