The end of term Kids club competition was a huge success and from all the cheering it sounds like everyone enjoyed themselves too. Graeme who is one of our kids club instructors was in charge of organising and the smooth running of competition so I will therefore leave it to him to explain how the competition went and to give you the results.

The Kids Club Competition consisted of doing three activities. The first was Bouldering, where there were three small boulder problems from easy to hard. The aim was to get to the top without falling off, if this was achieved on their first go they would earn 10 points for each boulder and five points if managed on their second go, creating a maximum of thirty points to win on the boulder section.
The second activity was the speed climb; this is where they were given an easy climb to ascend, but in the quickest time possible. Competitors raced side by side to really encourage them to get the fastest time possible. Their race times were deducted from thirty to give them their speed scores, so every second really counted.
The last event was the top rope climb, this is where they had to climb up to the top of a high route using one colour of holds, which got harder the higher they got. Every hold was worth points, with the total of getting thirty points if you reached the top. While the children competed, the rest of the competitors stood around and cheered on their friends, which lead to an excellent week of competitions and results which are listed below.
