Looking for a Full-time job?

Then we might just have the job for you!

If you think you’ve got what it takes to be one of the ‘Craggy Crew’ at Guildford, come and talk to us.

We are looking for a permanent Full-Time receptionist to work in our busy reception. Hours to include evenings and weekends.

Your duties will be to work with the other craggy crew, liaise with customers in person and on the phone with regard to the services we offer. Use our automated booking system and take payment by card and cash, ensuring accuracy at all times, and other general administrative tasks.

The job will suit bright and lively people who want to work in a healthy, uplifting, buzzing and social environment. Being a climber is not essential but an interest in an active lifestyle would be an advantage.

Ask in reception for more information or send a CV and covering letter explaining why you would like to work for us to ben@craggy-island.com

Please note that the closing date for applications is Friday 17th September 2010.

As you may or may not have heard, Craggy Island will be hosting a 12 hour sponsored climb to raise funds for Help for Heroes on Saturday 25th September 2010.

Craggy Island have chosen to raise money for Help for Heroes to support those returning from duty overseas.  A number of military clubs representing all services use the centre on a regular basis – some just for fun but others as rehabilitation after suffering injuries or losses whilst serving.  It is for these men and women that we are holding the event in honour of and to support them in their journey.

For more information about Help for Heroes and the work that they do, please visit their website:  www.helpforheroes.org.uk

So, hopefully you’re now thinking “Hmmm…  This sounds pretty fun – how can I get involved?”

Well, it’s actually really simple!  All you need to do is download a Registration Form or pick one up in the centre.  There’s a £10 registration fee which includes your entry on the day, light refreshments and your Help for Heroes wrist band – which we expect you to wear with pride on the day!

When you’ve completed your registration form and handed it in to reception you will given an Event Information Pack which will have lots more information about the day, including exactly what’s going on and when!  You can also download the Event Information sheet if you’re too excited to wait.

We’ll keep you updated in the run-up to this great event but if, in the meantime, you have any questions or would like further information, please speak to Ben Read on 0844 880 8866 or email him at Ben@craggy-island.com

Happy climbing!

Craggy at the Sandstone!

June 30th, 2010 by Ben Read | No Comments | Filed in Guildford News, Sutton News

With the summer now here we are planning on meeting up down at Bowles Rocks in Tunbridge Wells on Friday 16th July for a Craggy Island social. There will be no formal instruction, just the chance for you to meet up with other Craggy members and staff down at the rocks for a friendly climb.

There will be people on hand to give advice but YOU will be responsible for your own safety and equipment whilst climbing.

If you have not been down the Sandstone before, then we suggest that you seek professional instruction before hand. We recommend that you contact Joe Coverley who will be running Sandstone instruction down at Bowles on that night. More information on this can be found by emailing:  climbingtasters@live.co.uk

For those who have been to the Sandstone before then we shall be there from 6pm and will climb until it gets dark.

Bowles will be charging the normal entry fee of £2 so please make sure that you pop in to their reception before you start climbing.

For anyone that has not been to Bowles before please have a look at the following link for directions: http://www.bowles.ac/

For more information or if you have any questions please feel free to contact us, but if not then hopefully we shall see you there.
