Craggy2 Competition dates for your diary

The Competition season is starting to swing into gear and Craggy2 already has some dates for your diary:

Craggy2 Autumn Boulder League Round 2 – Thursday 29th September
All are welcome to our friendly comp – even if you didn’t do Round 1! See the news section for further details (coming soon).

Tri-Services Bouldering League Round 1 – Wednesday 12th October
The league is open to serving regular and reserve personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army and RAF. The centre will be closed for public climbing from 12:00 – 16:30 on the day.

 

and finally THE BIG ONE….

Southern Indoor Bouldering League 2011/12 Round 1 – Sunday 16th October
Craggy2 can’t wait to kick off the new SIBL season in style! The centre will be closed for public climbing until 17:00 on the day but feel free to come down and spectate if you haven’t registered to compete. More details at www.sibl.co.uk

Craggy2 Winter Boulder League Round 2 results

Hi all, here are the long awaited Winter Boulder League Round 2 results! Well done to everyone who took part, a fantastic night as ever and a great second round.

Really importantly Round 3 will be on Wednesday 16th of March 2011 as we will then be setting the comp routes on Thursday and Friday for the final round of SIBL (Southern Indoor Boulder League) which we are hosting on Saturday 19th March 2011. So why not get a bit more comp practice in and come down for Boulder League Round 3 and then do SIBL :0)

Craggy2 Rock Room route-set and B-B-B-Boulder League, Round 2!

Ok, so who’s ready for some new routes in the Rock Room? Well you’ll not be waiting long! We’ve a whole load of new holds to set with (the funky red and white ones, brand spanking new from Osmose), and Mark Croxall will be back at the end of this month to set in his own unique style, accompanied by his protégé, Mike Hadcocks. Route setting will commence on Monday 21st February, and be finished by Friday 25th February.  As ever, we aim to have the room open by 18.00 every evening of that week.

On Thursday 24th February we will be having our infamous Boulder League, consisting of 15 brand new routes to clamber on (and on behalf of us over-worked staff, fall off!) starting at 18.30 (18.00 for the wee ones), with results at 21.30. There are 4 categories; Kids, Easy, Medium and Hard, and entry only costs a mere 1.50 on top of your normal entry – cheaper than chips!

So we look forward to seeing all your bright and happy selves brutalising all the new routes very soon!
