June 11th, 2010 by Gareth | No Comments | Filed in Craggy Island News, Route Setting, Sutton News

Hi all,

Gaz Parry and Mark Croxall will be resetting the Rock Room here at Craggy2 on the 14th & 15th of June.

New routes = Joy!

As usual we’ll aim to get the room open by 6 ‘ish’ every evening of setting.

Plus a route set must mean it’s time for another round of our lovely Boulder League: it’ll be on Thursday 17th June from 18:30 onwards. See you there!

Want to climb harder and better? Our Techniques Coaches can show you how…

July 30th, 2009 by Danie | No Comments | Filed in Craggy Island News, Guildford News, Sutton News

Gaz Parry

Gaz is one of Britain’s most successful climbers in many disciplines of the sport.  A former British Leading and Bouldering Champion, he has competed for Great Britain at the highest level for many years, including winning the Arco Rockmaster Bouldering event in 2007.

As well as being a professional climber, Gaz is a climbing coach and is the current British Bouldering Team coach.

For more information about Gaz, please visit his website at:  www.gazparry.co.uk

Gaz also runs climbing and coaching holidays, please visit his website at  www.epic-adventures.eu

Gaz will next be coming to Craggy on :

Saturday 24th October 2009 – Craggy 2, Carshalton

Sunday 25th October 2009 – Guildford

He will be running 1:1 sessions and workshops to help you get the best from your climbing.

Mark Croxall

Mark is amongst the best climbers in the world.  He is an established member of the British Climbing Team and has been competing at world-class level since he joined the team in 2003.

The highlight of his competition career is his 1st place in the Birmingham round of the World Cup, which makes him one of a very select number of Britons to achieve a win at international level.

Mark runs sessions for up to 2 climbers at a time.  During your session you can either work on a general nip ‘n’ tuck of your climbing style or look to improve on specific elements within your climbing.  Mark is also our route-setter so can provide you with vital information on how to unlock the sequences on particular routes.

Mark will next be coming to Craggy on:

Saturday 22nd August 2009 – Craggy2, Carshalton

Sunday 23rd August 2009 – Guildford

Danie Rushmer

Danie is currently ranked 8th in Britain and has climbed 7c+ outside, placing her amongst the best female climbers in the UK.

At only 5′2″ Danie is very used to having to find new (and often quite interesting) sequeces in order to complete routes and boulder problems.

When she is not climbing, Danie is our Centre Manager and one of our Route Setters.  She is available for Private Tuitions and can tailor her coaching to the specific requirements of individuals.

Ben Read

Ben is currently ranked 9th in Britain and has a huge amount of potential in both competition and outdoor climbing and bouldering.

When he is not climbing, Ben is one of our Duty Managers and Route Setters.  He is available for Private Tuitions and can tailor his coaching to the specific requirements of individuals.

Please speak to a member of the Reception Team or call us on 0844 880 8866 for further information or to make a booking with any of our Coaches.
