Craggy2 Rock Room reset next week

December 14th, 2011 by Gareth | No Comments | Filed in Craggy Island News, Route Setting, Sutton News

Christmas will come early for Craggy2 as we get the company of our merry route setting elves next week in the Rock Room.

They’ll be hard at work setting from Monday 19th through to Wednesday 21st of December. So if you’ve any projects left in the Rock Room then now is the time to come down and finish them off in preparation of a whole room full of new routes!

A new set also means it’s time for Boulder League – so see you on Thursday 22nd December for the last comp of the year with festive prizes. For more details see the Craggy Island Facebook site. The unconfirmed reports that our very own Luke will be dressing up as Santa for the night are completely unfounded…

Craggy2 route setting dates for your diary

March 22nd, 2011 by Gareth | No Comments | Filed in Craggy Island News, Route Setting, Sutton News

We’re continuing with our monthly route setting schedule here at Craggy2 so the next dates for your diary are:

Rock Room 18th – 21st April 2011
Comp Room 23 – 27th May 2011

This means Mark and Co. will be setting the usual range of ladders to fierce problems to tax your climbing skills. As ever we aim to have the setting and testing completed by approximately 18:30 each day and the room back open for you to try the new routes.

With the new routes comes Boulder League (our fun climbing competition) so the next dates for you to work to are:

Thursday 21st April 2011
Thursday 27th May 2011

They are posted as events on the Craggy Island Facebook page so why not keep track of things there?

And finally Mark will be holding his technique sessions on Saturday 16th of April so if you are looking to improve your grade and technique why not give our reception team a call on 08448 808 866 and book a space now!

Craggy2 Rock Room route-set and B-B-B-Boulder League, Round 2!

February 7th, 2011 by Gareth | No Comments | Filed in Craggy Island News, Sutton News

Ok, so who’s ready for some new routes in the Rock Room? Well you’ll not be waiting long! We’ve a whole load of new holds to set with (the funky red and white ones, brand spanking new from Osmose), and Mark Croxall will be back at the end of this month to set in his own unique style, accompanied by his protégé, Mike Hadcocks. Route setting will commence on Monday 21st February, and be finished by Friday 25th February.  As ever, we aim to have the room open by 18.00 every evening of that week.

On Thursday 24th February we will be having our infamous Boulder League, consisting of 15 brand new routes to clamber on (and on behalf of us over-worked staff, fall off!) starting at 18.30 (18.00 for the wee ones), with results at 21.30. There are 4 categories; Kids, Easy, Medium and Hard, and entry only costs a mere 1.50 on top of your normal entry – cheaper than chips!

So we look forward to seeing all your bright and happy selves brutalising all the new routes very soon!

Craggy2 Rock Room reset and Boulder League!

December 6th, 2010 by Gareth | No Comments | Filed in Craggy Island News, Route Setting, Sutton News

Hi all,

Just a quick reminder that Mark and Mike (M&M?!?) will be resetting the Rock Room here at Craggy2 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week – that’s the 6th, 7th and 8th. As usual half of the room will be closed for setting  during the day and we will aim to have it fully open by 18:30 each day. The rest of the centre is open for climbing as usual. So with a watchful eye out for black ice get yourself down here for a go on the new routes :0)

Also as it’s a route setting week that can only mean one thing… Boulder League! The final round of our Autumn Boulder League will be running on Thursday the 9th of December.  Have a look at the events page of our Facebook page for full details.
