If you’ve completed a Beginner’s Course or feel that your climbing has stagnated and are wondering as to the next step on the route to great climbing, then our hot-off-the-press new ‘Next Step’ course is for you!
You may know how to use the centre and are safe to climb but it can still be daunting to step out of your comfort zone and try harder climbs.
‘Next Step’ is specifically designed to lead you further into the great adventure that is rock climbing. The course is structured as two 2 hour sessions on consecutive Monday evenings (19:00-21:00) and Sundays (13:30-15:30). It is designed to improve confidence and develop skills and techniques to increase performance.
Course covers:
- Belaying assessment and knot tying – to correct any bad habits and build confidence.
- Techniques and body positions required for ‘seemingly’ effortless ascents.
- Efficient footwork and how to trust your climbing shoes and foot position.
- How to rock over, layback and drop your knee, form a crimp and use an open hand.
- Explore training regimes for both finger strength, power and stamina.
- Bouldering and use of finger boards.
Our ‘Next Step’ course is launching at Guildford at the beginning of May and costs just £59 per person!
